The truth is, we don’t thrive in isolation, we thrive in a community.

We grow when we are interacting with badass sovereign individuals that encourage us to keep going.  We expand when we create an environment that normalizes feedback, debate, and playful problem-solving.

If you’ve been living in an isolated place of constant worry……we want to show you another way.

If you’ve been yearning to be around forward-thinking individuals who are dedicated to thriving not surviving, who believe in creating solutions, and are excited for this brave new world…

THIS is the event for you.

You will have access to…

✔️Hands-on workshops that teach you how to make a sourdough starter, can vegetables, and mend clothes.

✔️Educational Workshops on homeopathic medicine, water sanitation, and emergency preparedness.

✔️Conversations with experts on business and wealth creation.

✔️Discussions with like-minded people on how to cultivate healthy community connections.

✔️Exposure to local businesses & creatives that spoke out during the pandemic.

✔️ VIP Ticket includes a special dinner with solution orientated round table discussions.

Your circle of influence matters!

Set up for Sovereignty is a fun, casual, and inspiring event with thought leaders in natural medicine, freedom systems, finance, business building, homesteading, mental health, coaching, self-sustainability, preparedness, and more.

The world is becoming increasingly divided, even within your favourite communities.

The world is normalizing distraction and isolation instead of presence and community building. It’s normalizing binary thinking and tribalism instead of good conversation and round table problem-solving.

One of the greatest acts of rebellion right now is to stay open and connect with your neighbour.

It’s time to learn sovereign skills……but it’s also time to build your connections.

Meet Your Speakers and Volunteers

  • Meg Garland

    Organizer, Homesteader & Entrepreneur

Meg Garland is a busy mama of 3, raising free range children and chickens on her homestead with her husband, Casey. Her passion is being a homemaker and providing for her family, believing the world changes one happy home at a time. She has inspired others to show up unapologetically in life when she started speaking up online about the corruption in the world during the pandemic. Her down to earth no BS approach to social media, with the love of her family at the heart of what she does, attracted many followers.

Now Meg is showing people you can create your dream life, despite not knowing what the heck you are doing.

  • Nicole Murphy

    Organizer, Journalist & Media Mentor

Nicole Murphy has worked in media for a decade including on a morning news show, producing documentary web series, a variety of roles on dramatic movie sets, teaching media at a post-secondary level, and most recently as a journalist for an alternative media company.

Now Nicole is using the skills she’s accumulated over the years to create the Nicole Murphy Podcast, organize events that build community, educate on media literacy and mentor the people that feel a call to create media content themselves.

  • Sarah Swain

    Entrepreneur & Business Strategist

Sarah is a high-energy entrepreneur and business strategist that quit her job in 2017 with no backup plan and trusted herself to fly. She has taken the Canadian entrepreneurial scene by storm as she is passionate about helping people reinstate the power of choice in their lives, by creating more wealth and independence. Sarah, like many of us, has navigated the unpredictable terrain of the past two years both as a professional and as an everyday Canadian, becoming a major voice for freedom fighters across the nation - a journey that has stripped her of any remaining shred of inauthenticity. With a knack for Canadian politics, Sarah has also become a source of simplifying our Parliamentary proceedings and played a significant role in helping people build the confidence needed to enact change as citizens of a democracy. Sarah resides in the foothills of the Alberta Rockies with her family, in the cabin in the woods she swore she’d always move to.

  • Kate Davy

    Instructor, Emergency Preparedness

She grew up with a mom who embodied the sentiment ‘prepared for anything.’ She learned from a very early age that 'being prepared' could help you handle emergencies with more grace and less reactivity. She woke up to the corruption in the world after noticing the parallels between a toxic marriage she had left and becoming a single mom.

Kate doesn’t have a lot of land or a lot of space and yet she’s managed to ‘prep’ for her family of six + furbaby in a 1200 sq ft townhouse in the city. She’s got so many tricks up her sleeve that you might not have thought about and she is excited to share them with you.

  • Karla Joy Treadway

Instructor, Sovereign is an Inside Job

Karla Joy Treadway is an Integrated Life Coach, podcaster, holistic wellness practitioner and full time freedom fighter. She closed her brick and mortar yoga studio in 2020 due to never ending lockdowns and set herself up to be sovereign and free on a remote island in Northwestern Ontario. Her and her family have created sovereign independence in health, wealth and freedom systems and she now helps others develop an unshakable future for themselves no matter what this wild world has in store.

  • Josée Bremner

    Instructor, Canning

Josée Bremner is a young entrepreneurial mother of two, who’s also a Certified Health Coach. After planting roots with her husband on an acreage just outside Rimbey, AB., her passion for preserving homegrown foods grew as plentiful as her gardens each year. Josée is a self taught-canner! The art of canning is something she enjoys doing with friends & family, and now is so excited to share and educate others on the canning basics!

  • Alexandria Coles

    Instructor, Foraging in Alberta

Alexandria is local to Central Alberta since she moved from BC nearly 10 years ago. Her uprooting helped her to explore curiosity in the Alberta woodlands which eventually inspired her to enroll in a Herbal Practitioner program in 2017. Since attending this program, Alexandria has become very attached to the outdoors and has been foraging plants ever since. When she is not outdoors, she loves spending time with friends and family, gardening, and doing crafts.

  • Rhonda Murphy

    Rhonda Murphy

    Instructor, Sough Dough Starter

Rhonda Murphy is a dedicated educator, supportive mentor, and model teacher whose passion in the kitchen has inspired a Culinary Garden Club with her junior high students. Together they create, cook, and care for their community.

Rhonda’s very first culinary experiences started when she was a young teenager working at the Multicultural Centre in the homesteader’s kitchen. Throughout her life, she discovered the joy of creating wholesome home cooked meals.

Her enthusiasm spilled over onto her husband and children who have all learned the joy of cooking and connection. Mealtime is sacred in Rhonda’s home. Visit Rhonda to enjoy a fresh slice of sourdough bread, learn how easy it is to make homemade bread, and then walk away with your very own sourdough starter.

  • Lisa Heinrichs

    Instructor, Homeopathic Medicine Basics

Lisa Heinrichs read an article by a homeopath over a decade ago that catalyzed her passion to pursue natural medicine. After taking many courses and learning how to treat acute, as well as chronic illness, she decided to become a professional homeopath herself.

She studied at the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine (CCHM) in Toronto and later went to graduate from the Academy of Practical Homeopathy (APH). It was here she ended up training under the woman who wrote the original article that inspired her to follow this calling.

Now she wants to spread the message, you were not put on this earth to suffer forevermore, you have a purpose. Lisa wants to help you feel better with gentle and effective homeopathic care.

She eventually got a job working at a post-secondary institution where she’s worked for over 10 years. She is now working to build her skills in these areas getting back to her rural roots in an urban setting with a backyard garden and chickens!

  • Annabelle Lockie

    Volunteer

Born and raised on the south shore of Montreal, Annabelle Lockie moved to Calgary 7 years ago with her two dogs. She quickly met her now husband and their family expanded in 2020 when they welcomed their son into the world.

As a teacher, her love of learning has always been strong, so when she was forced out of her classroom last year, she took that passion and started learning about homesteading and prepping. She has been practicing those skills ever since.
